An experienced freelance journalist, editor and content creator who writes about gardens, interiors, buildings and property, with particular interests in history, place-making, culture and the arts, fine design and craft.

I write as a freelance journalist for publications such as The Daily Telegraph, House & Garden, The English Garden, The London Magazine and Grand Designs magazine, among others, and edit the Garden Design Journal, a monthly magazine published by James Pembroke Media for the Society of Garden + Landscape Designers, on a freelance, part-time basis.

I also provide a range of writing, editing, sub-editing and proofreading services, as outlined here.

Before setting up my own freelance business, I was the Houses & Gardens Editor for Homes & Gardens and prior to that, Deputy Editor of Country Homes & Interiors, having risen up through the editorial ranks, learning my trade in traditional fashion whilst working for book publishers, trade newspapers and national magazine publishers. I continue to use my trade craft as a copy- and sub-editor and proofreader on a daily basis, together with my extensive expertise in ideas development and production, commissioning, and project management on short- and long-term assignments for a wide range of commercial, not-for-profit and editorial clients.

For commissions and projects, and details of my other editorial services, please do get in touch.
